Junior Racer Update 26/7/05

Our first season is over with mixed results.
After a shakey start and many crashes things settled down. In the last half of the season we had a lot of good heat finishes and 2 feature wins 1 second and 1 third.
Third place in the lismore championship point score. We are looking good for a big season coming up

Well after two full meetings its been an exciting time.!!! At our first full meeting at Grafton Melina finished 4th in the feature race.
Then on to Lismore for our first run at this track...
In the first corner of the first race Melina was passing another car on the outside when contact was made resulting in a spetacular roll over 2 1/2 times.
Mel was fine but the car was a mess...
After a lot of work i managed to get it going for the feature race allbeit not looking so good but Mel was keen to get out there again.
Track conditions were dry and very slippery and Mel drove sensibly for the fist 4 laps..Then another driver tried a wild outside pass but spunout right in front of her leaving Mel no where to go but straight into the back of him, Destroying the front of our car.......
But thats racing wrong place and wrong time....
Back to BrunzWreckers for more parts and another major rebuild...
Lets hope our luck changes next meeting at Lismore on boxing day. UPDATE...26/1/05 Boxing Day was a disaster for Melina. After having a great first race she came out in the feature and was driving sensibly in very slippery conditions when an out of control driver put her head first into the wall half way down the back straight destroying the car. between boxing day and the 4th we had to build a new car.When i say we Mel worked in the garage with me day and night for 9 days to get it ready for the next meeting. The 4th was a shakedown run for the new car and all went well and we came home damage free. The 9th was another good night with some good results and a damage free car again.. Tonite ( Australia Day ) we run at Lismore if the rain stays away long enough..
